Big Band With Strings

The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra with strings!! In look and sound this band screams "wow moment". The big band can be scaled down to a 10 piece band plus 6 strings. This is a great fit because we can use the 6 strings for the ceremony. Musically this ensemble is strongest with the classic, timeless look and sound of the Sinatra style standards as well as Motown and more. We have hundreds of songs in repertoire and can customize the music set to fit the flow of the night perfectly.

Exciting Collab With American Idol Star & Winner

We have a brand new partnership with American Idol star and the winner of season 12, Candice Glover! She’s beautiful, talented and LA Times said she was the greatest vocalist to ever win American Idol and we agree. Equinox Entertainment is now offering her online streaming show, her live in-person show, AND Candice fronting The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra alongside Clay and Jeremy! This is a super fun match made in Lowcountry, Savannah GA heaven!

For The Wedding Ceremony Or Cocktail Hour

A simple solo musician will be perfect for the ceremony. should you want more this ensemble performs all the standard classical wedding songs and hymns folks know, love, and sometimes expect for the ceremony. But in addition to that, they've added pop covers to that classic sound and look. It is a great way to make your ceremony or cocktail hour have that elegant look and feel while adding some music that is more uniques. we can make meaningful songs fit the occasion musically. The song lists vary widely from Adele, Ariana Grande, and Carly Rae Jepsen to Dean Martin, Imagine Dragons, and Lady Gaga. Super fun and unique.

Parade Like They Do In New Orleans

We are from the great state of Louisiana and we carry a spicy dash of the mardi gras spirit into every event that we do! there is no more fun way to move guests from one part of the night to the next than a brass band street parade. It's also a great exclamation mark on the evening for wedding party send-off!

Fabulous Equinox Wedding Band

GA - Savannah • SC - Charleston / Myrtle Beach • NY - Manhattan And Boroughs

The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra (Jeremy Davis and Clay Johnson are true southern gentlemen).

It should come as no surprise, then, that the story of how their friendship came to be is as southern as it gets. See, in the South, arranged marriages may no longer exist, but arranged friendships are as common as fried chicken after church on Sunday, and that is exactly what Jeremy and Clay were – an arranged friendship. The two met as prepubescent boys heading into the awkward and dreaded era that is junior high. As fate would have it, the two were assigned identical class schedules at West Monroe Junior High in West Monroe, LA. Upon noticing this, their mothers decided that the two would be best friend – and as we all know… what mama wants, mama gets! Despite initially hating the time they were forced to spend together, a lifelong friendship eventually took root.

A turning point in their friendship came when the two discovered that they shared a passion and proclivity for music. In school, they both excelled in band where Jeremy played the saxophone and Clay played the trombone. The two continued performing together through high school and into college at Louisiana Tech, and it was there that they began experimenting with different kinds of music – Rhythm & Blues, Rock-N-Roll, Classical, Jazz, and even Hip Hop. Their fascination with all types of music combined with roots planted firmly in the south and Clay’s gospel background (having been raised by preachers, teachers and gospel singers) led to the founding, and eventual success, of one of the most musically diverse bands in the south: The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra.

Today, the group continues to gain traction and find success as the first “southern big band”. This band is unlike any other, and the terms “orchestra” and “big band” don’t even begin to scrape the surface of all that the group offers. Their diverse repertoire covers the songs and sounds from the classic Rat Pack style big-band, the smokey Cabaret style quintet, and the Funky Motown dance band with horns. This group does it all and pays homage to the culture that raised and inspired them. They are most at home performing the toe-tapping French Quarter, NOLA style street parades!

The road to such success was not an easy one to travel. Jeremy learned the hard way how not to run a band, having led countless bands in over 200 shows prior to the founding of the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. While Jeremy had a hunch that he was on to something with this new group, the catalyst was the decision to bring Clay in as a vocalist. In that moment, the arranged friendship that began in the Louisiana Bayou became the duo responsible for producing some of the best arrangements in southern music history.
